Description

A fun toy robot that you can build on a Carvey and even customize in Easel. Our design features rotating and reversible eyeballs to create lots of funny expressions and three removable "puzzle gears". The robot leans back at a slight angle to keep the parts in place. No batteries required!

Assemble the 'Bot

Assemble the treads to the body using a little bit of wood glue. The parts should fit right together.

Attach the gray eye bezel with a little bit of wood glue. This part is not meant to be removable.

The rest of the parts are meant to be removable, so just clean them up a little and put them on once the treads have dried.

Have fun!

Any reason this wouldn't work on an X-carve?

Michael Trader · April 04, 2016

Yes, it would definitely work on an X-carve - you could even make a bigger one!

Great - perhaps a couple more newcomer questions? 1) what is the easiest way to scale up all easel plans consistently? 2) What bit would you recommend?

Michael Trader · April 08, 2016

Scale drawings in the "shape" tab in the floating cut/shape toolbar. For the "Size" option, lock the proportions and specify a new dimension to scale. Calculate the percentage that you're scaling it up consistently for all of the parts. The bit used is a 1/16" fishtail.
